Hurry Up And WAIT!!

Hurry Up and………WAIT

All of our lives
we’ve been taught
to wait
that good things come
to those
who…….
WAIT…
wait til nightfall
wait til morning rises
wait for the reveal
beneath the disguises
wait til it warms
wait til it gets cold
wait when your young
wait til you get old
wait for sex
wait for love
wait til he steps down
from the heavens above
wait til they see me
wait for a sign
wait for the pain to go away
wait for time
wait for the rain to stop
wait for the right opportunity
wait for the ball to drop
wait in continuity
wait for a raise
wait to heal
wait til it pays off
wait til you feel it
wait til its over
wait for it to begin
wait til it comes out
wait til it ends
wait for Christmas
wait for summer
wait til you just can’t wait any longer
and the hunger
grows stronger
and we wait for change
and then oneday we wake
and nothing is the same
and our dreams touch reality
and our what if’s come to end
and the waiting is finally over
and the Revolution begins.

And we begin again….

  1. I cant imagine having ever problem come across your desk in the past 100 days. I think the past 100 days has given him exposure and further insight into what we face and what we need to fix.

What I have been shown? President Obama has stayed true to his character and held his integrity. We all have to realize it will take 4 years to deal with the issues and another 4 to see the change we want. He has been upfront with us and said we have a mess to deal with, we have been thru some things and aren’t on our game and we are going to work thru those things for a better America. He is the constant reminder that true change starts with us. Stay involved people!!

  2. I am still very excited and admittedly get a little too giddy (at least more than I’d like to admit) when I see him grace my television/computer screen. However there is a part of me that refuses to get all caught up in the whole “100 days in office” thingy. I will say that I think he is off to a great start, and feel that there was a widespread relief from most of the world upon his arrival in the White House and he has acted well. I remember him saying in his first day in office that he would close the Guantánamo prison camp, and true to his word, he is working on it….within just a few more days he said what the world wanted to hear on Iraq (glad to say my cousin is now safely back at home)….on torture and on climate change. Not to mention his April meetings in Trinidad & Tobago for the Summit of the Americas and in Turkey & Europe for a series of other summits; ALL were an “almost” unqualified success. My general consensus is that (most) people everywhere like and trust him, and that just makes my insides BURST with joy. I am very pleased. I know he has a long road ahead but I am and shall remain confident in my President and his ability to do what is best for our country and the future of our children!!

Today I am hopeful (which is something I have not been as it pertained to our government) in a long time.

    Great Poem Tina!
